NCRTC Invites Bids for New Hubs on Delhi-Meerut Corridor

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is taking a bold step toward transforming urban development along the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor. In a strategic move to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth, NCRTC invites bids for the creation of commercial, residential, and service hubs along this pivotal transit route.

The corridor, currently spanning a 55-km stretch between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South—with plans to extend to 82 km by year’s end—will incorporate Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) principles. This approach aims to integrate high-density, mixed-use developments around transit stations, reducing congestion and promoting a sustainable urban ecosystem. Key sites earmarked for development include major parcels in Ghaziabad, Duhai Depot, Bhaisali in Meerut, Modipuram Depot, and smaller land parcels in strategic areas.

Under this initiative, the selected consultant will establish a dedicated Project Management Unit (PMU). Their responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive market research, performing detailed demand assessments, providing transaction advisory services, and offering ongoing project management support. The PMU is also expected to prepare robust business plans, draft bid documents, and facilitate the seamless selection of developers. By doing so, the PMU will ensure that the project leverages the full potential of the available land and aligns with the latest regulatory frameworks and TOD strategies.

This effort by NCRTC is designed to monetize prime land parcels and generate significant non-fare revenue. The enhanced corridor will not only reduce travel times between key urban centers but will also catalyze real estate growth by attracting investors and boosting property values in the region. The development strategy aligns with global best practices and is expected to create a ripple effect of economic activity—ranging from increased commercial investments to improved residential infrastructure.

The bid submission deadline for this project is March 20, providing interested parties with a clear timeline to prepare their proposals. With NCRTC invites bids as a central part of its strategy, the authority is paving the way for an integrated transit and development hub that could set a benchmark for sustainable urban planning in the National Capital Region.

As the project progresses, stakeholders from government bodies, private developers, and investors are poised to collaborate closely to bring this vision to life. The initiative is expected to not only enhance regional connectivity but also create new job opportunities and stimulate local economies. With a focus on sustainable growth and modern infrastructure, this transformative project promises to redefine urban development along the Delhi-Meerut corridor.

Stay tuned for further updates as NCRTC invites bids and the project unfolds, marking a new era in the evolution of urban mobility and real estate in the NCR.
