In a move that would further boost the prospects of real estate in Ayodhya, the Uttar Pradesh government in its Budget for Financial year 2024-25 allocated Rs 150 crore for the expansion of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in the city.

Phase-1 of the recently opened airport has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 1,450 crore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the airport on December 30, 2023.

While presenting a Rs 7.36-lakh-crore Budget in the Assembly on February 5, Uttar Pradesh finance minister Suresh Khanna also set aside Rs 100 crore for the overall development of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Ram, where a grand temple dedicated to the deity was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22. The FM also allocated Rs 10 crore for the International Ramayana and Vedic Research Centre in Ayodhya.

Currently, mega projects worth Rs 12,000 crore are in various stages of construction in Ayodhya.
