Mumbai: Bollywood actress Sunny Leone bought a 4,365 sq ft apartment in the Andheri suburb of Mumbai for 16 million rupees. The deal attracted a stamp fee of 48,000 rupees and was registered on 28th March. The apartment on the 12th floor of an Atlantis project under construction, which is being developed by the real estate agency Crystal Pride Developers, Lyon, will also provide access to three motorized parking spaces. Leone executed the deal with his documented name Karenjit Kaur Vohra. With a view to revitalizing the real estate sector and about 260 related industries by promoting home sales, the state government announced a reduction of stamp duty to 2% from 5% in September to the end of December. Stamp duty was imposed at 3% of the agreement value between January and March 31. In addition to helping shift pent-up demand into affordable and middle-income segments, the stamp duty reduction has also resulted in the completion of many high-value transactions in the city.
