
As of July 16, the Pradhan Mantri Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY) has granted property ownership rights to 23,811 individuals. This information was shared in a written response to the Lok Sabha by Delhi's housing and urban affairs minister, Tokhan Sahu.
Sahu stated that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) received over 1,22,729 applications for ownership rights under PM-UDAY. Additionally, the DDA has allocated Rs 2,173.81 crore for projects approved under the Urban Development Fund (UDF) over the past five years (2019-20 to 2023-24). According to Sahu, more than 22 projects funded by the UDF are currently in the implementation stage.
In 2019, the Union Cabinet initiated the PM-UDAY scheme to grant ownership rights to residents of unauthorized colonies in Delhi.
