June 25, 2024: The opening of Noida International Airport has been postponed by seven months, now expected to commence operations by the end of April 2025. This delay is due to construction setbacks, the airport announced in a statement.
“In view of the current construction status, we expect to begin commercial operations by the end of April 2025. We are working closely with our EPC contractor, Tata Projects Limited, and other stakeholders to maintain the pace of construction activities and prepare for operational readiness,” the airport stated.
According to media reports, the Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), overseeing the construction of the greenfield airport at Jewar, informed the Uttar Pradesh government that around 78.11% of the work has been completed. However, delays on the terminal building side have pushed back the start of operations.
The Noida International Airport, spanning 1,334 hectares, is being built in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, UP. Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the airport in November 2021.
