May 31, 2024: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has recently received approval to extend the Aqua Line corridor to Greater Noida West. This is a significant development aimed at enhancing connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi. The new rail network corridor will make it much easier for commuters to travel between different parts of the capital and Noida, as well as Greater Noida.
Under this extension project, 11 new metro stations will be added to the Aqua Line. These
stations include:
● Noida Sector 61
● Noida Sector 70
● Noida Sector 122
● Noida Sector 123
● Greater Noida Sector 4
● Ecotech 12
● Greater Noida Sector 2
● Greater Noida Sector 3
● Greater Noida Sector 10
● Greater Noida Sector 12
● Greater Noida Knowledge Park V
The Aqua Line extension is set to cover 17.43 kilometers, with an estimated project cost of Rs 2,991.60 crore. The interchange station at Sector 61 will be vital in linking the Aqua Line with DMRC’s Blue Line. This new metro line will significantly cut travel time and reduce pollution. Additionally, with more commuters choosing the metro, it is expected to ease traffic congestion on the roads.
