MCG Steps Up Recovery From Defaulters
The sealing is part of MCG's ongoing action against properties with unpaid tax.
Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has asked the concerned owners to clear their outstanding amounts within the prescribed period. If the dues remain unpaid, further action can follow under the applicable rules.
The corporation has also asked property owners to regularly check their tax records and clear outstanding amounts on time.
Property tax is a significant source of revenue for MCG. The corporation uses these collections to fund civic services and infrastructure, including sanitation, roads, drainage and street lighting.
What Commercial Property Owners Need to Know
The latest action is relevant beyond the four properties involved.
For commercial owners, property tax is an ongoing liability, and accumulated arrears can eventually lead to enforcement. MCG's action also shows that the corporation is continuing to pursue recovery from properties carrying sizeable outstanding amounts.
Owners looking to verify their tax liability can also refer to this Haryana property tax guide for details on assessment, payment and verification.
Accurate property records are also important when dealing with tax assessments, making Gurugram property records another area owners should keep updated.
The municipal corporation's website provides an online property-tax service through which owners can check and pay their dues.
For the four properties sealed this week, the immediate issue is straightforward: the properties have been sealed because of unpaid municipal tax, and the owners have been asked to settle the outstanding amounts before further action is taken.
