Greater Noida: GNIDA identifies two plots to develop flats for the poor

Greater Noida: While 750 applicants have registered for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the Greater Noida authority has identified two parcels totaling 73,421 square meters for an online auction for developers to develop apartments under this scheme. These lands are located in Sectors 2 and Omicron 1A. The online auction will take place next month. Construction on the 1 and 2 bedroom apartments is expected to begin early next year. Santosh Kumar, who is in charge of the construction cell at GNIDA, said: "We have identified two plots for apartment development for the economically weaker section of the community under PMAY. It includes a 53,071 square meter plot in Sector 2 and another 20,350 meters parcel in the Omicron 1A sector. The land will be sold during the builder’s online auction next month. " According to Kumar, GNIDA has solicited applications from those seeking affordable housing under PMAY. Due to the pandemic, the application deadline has been extended three times since the plan was launched earlier this year in January. A total of 750 applications were received. To attract builders to develop the project, GNIDA has also offered to provide 10% of the land uses for commercial purposes by the developer compared to 1% previously. The possibility of downloading the application for this system is available online from October 25 on the etender.sbi portal. Applications with the relevant documents can be sent until November 18. The final tender will open on November 29. “Once the builder is selected, there will be a special focus to start construction and finish the project on time so that eligible beneficiaries can get the apartments as soon as possible,” said Narendra Bhushan, CEO of GNIDA.
