Yeida Allocates 200 Acres for ₹8,200 Crore Solar Manufacturing Hub

The Yamuna Expressway region continues to strengthen its position as a rapidly emerging industrial and renewable energy hub. In a major boost for the state’s clean-energy ambitions, Yeida has allotted 200 acres of industrial land in Sector 8 to SAEL Solar P6 Private Limited for setting up a ₹8,200 crore integrated solar manufacturing hub. The new mega project is expected to bring large-scale investment, advanced solar technologies, and thousands of new jobs to the area surrounding the Noida International Airport.

The announcement marks another milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s push for manufacturing-led growth, especially in high-potential sectors like renewable energy and advanced technology infrastructure.

A Strategic Project to Accelerate Renewable Manufacturing

According to officials, the 200-acre allocation will support the development of an end-to-end manufacturing ecosystem for solar cells and modules. The project includes:

  • 5 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing line
  • 5 GW solar module manufacturing line

TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technology is considered one of the most efficient and advanced solar cell technologies globally, making this project a significant step toward the state's renewable energy roadmap.

The project received a go-ahead after the state government issued a Letter of Comfort to SAEL Industries. Following this, Yeida evaluated the proposal and formally handed over the allotment letter.

Officials noted that the upcoming unit will play a major role in building a domestic solar supply chain, reducing import dependency, and supporting national clean energy targets.

Why Sector 8 Near Noida Airport is the Perfect Location

The solar hub will be strategically located along the Yamuna Expressway, close to the Noida International Airport in Jewar. This region has rapidly evolved into one of the most important industrial corridors in North India.

Yeida CEO RK Singh highlighted that the location offers:

  • Seamless connectivity via the expressway
  • Proximity to the upcoming international airport
  • Access to logistics hubs and freight corridors
  • Strong policy support for manufacturing from the state government

These factors make the region ideal for large-scale renewable and industrial operations.

Singh added that the solar hub will not only generate employment but also accelerate the creation of an integrated solar ecosystem, reinforcing the region’s identity as a strategic manufacturing zone.

Boost to the State’s Industrial & Renewable Energy Policies

The allotment aligns closely with Uttar Pradesh’s broader industrial policy goals. The government has been actively promoting renewable energy manufacturing, aiming to attract clean-energy players and strengthen domestic production.

The new project supports these policy pillars by:

  • Encouraging advanced solar technology adoption
  • Attracting high-value manufacturing investments
  • Strengthening state-level supply chains
  • Enhancing exports and industrial output

With companies increasingly looking to manufacture within India, large-scale hubs like this help position Uttar Pradesh as a competitive destination.

SAEL’s Role in India’s Renewable Landscape

SAEL Industries Limited is already a well-established integrated renewable energy company. Its portfolio spans:

  • Solar module manufacturing
  • EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) services
  • Operations & maintenance
  • IPP (Independent Power Producer) solar assets
  • Agro-waste-to-energy projects

As per officials, SAEL currently manages:

  • 8299+ MWp of solar IPP projects
  • 3,625 MW TOPCon module manufacturing capacity
  • 164.90 MW of agri-waste energy projects

Its involvement signals that the upcoming solar hub will not only be large-scale but also technologically advanced and operationally efficient.

A Step Toward Creating a Manufacturing Cluster Along the Expressway

Officials stated that this project is part of Yeida’s long-term plan to develop a dedicated manufacturing cluster along the Yamuna Expressway. The addition of a massive solar hub is expected to:

  • Attract more green-tech companies
  • Strengthen local industrial supply chains
  • Encourage ancillary industries such as glass, EVA film, and backsheet manufacturers
  • Improve job creation and economic opportunities in nearby districts

The Jewar Airport, expected to become one of the largest aviation hubs in the country, will further enhance the region’s ability to attract investment in logistics, electronics, data centers, warehousing, and renewable energy.

What This Means for Investors and the Region

The project is poised to have widespread economic benefits:

1. Large-scale job creation

Skilled and semi-skilled employment opportunities will grow in manufacturing, maintenance, logistics, and engineering.

2. Boost to renewable energy exports

With 10 GW annual manufacturing capacity, the region could emerge as a major supplier to global markets.

3. Strengthening India’s solar mission

The hub supports India's target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.

4. Industrial real estate growth

Demand for land, factories, and support infrastructure around the hub is expected to rise, pushing the region forward as a manufacturing hotspot.

Conclusion

The allotment of 200 acres to develop a ₹8,200 crore solar manufacturing hub marks a transformative moment for the Yamuna Expressway region. By combining advanced technologies, large-scale investment, and strategic location advantages, Yeida has set the foundation for one of the most significant renewable energy clusters in North India.

With strong policy support and rapidly growing infrastructure, the area around Noida International Airport is poised to become a major magnet for clean-energy and high-tech industries. As Yeida continues to drive large industrial projects, the region’s role in India’s manufacturing and renewable transition will only become stronger.
