वास्तु शास्त्र के अनुसार घर में कौन सी दिशा में क्या होना चाहिए तो आइये जानते है। इसका उल्लेख कई वास्तु ग्रंथों में मिलता है। भवन भास्कर और विश्वकर्मा प्रकाश सहित अन्य ग्रंथों में भी मिलता है। वास्तु के अनुसार एक आदर्श मकान का मेनगेट सिर्फ पूर्व या उत्तर दिशा में ही होना चाहिए। वहीं आपके घर का ढलान पूर्व, उत्तर या पूर्व-उत्तर (इशान कोण) की और होना शुभ माना गया है। इस तरह वास्तु के अनुसार घर के कमरे, हॉल, किचन, बाथरुम और बेडरुम एक खास दिशा में होने चाहिए। जिससे घर में वास्तुदोष नहीं होता और लोग सुखी रहते हैं।
पूर्व दिशा - पूर्व दिशा सूर्योदय की दिशा है। इस दिशा से सकारात्मक व ऊर्जावान किरणें हमारे घर में प्रवेश करती हैं। यदि घर का मेनगेट इस दिशा में है तो बहुत अच्छा है। खिड़की भी रख सकते हैं।
पश्चिम दिशा - आपका रसोईघर या टॉयलेट इस दिशा में होना चाहिए। रसोईघर और टॉयलेट पास- पास न हो, इसका भी ध्यान रखें।
उत्तर दिशा - इस दिशा में घर के सबसे ज्यादा खिड़की और दरवाजे होने चाहिए। घर की बालकॉनी व वॉश बेसिन भी इसी दिशा में होना चाहिए। यदि मेनगेट इस दिशा में है और अति उत्तम।
दक्षिण दिशा - दक्षिण दिशा में किसी भी प्रकार का खुलापन, शौचालय आदि नहीं होना चाहिए। घर में इस स्थान पर भारी सामान रखें। यदि इस दिशा में द्वार या खिड़की है तो घर में नकारात्मक ऊर्जा रहेगी और ऑक्सीजन का लेवल भी कम हो जाएग। इससे घर में क्लेश बढ़ता है।
उत्तर-पूर्व दिशा - इसे ईशान दिशा भी कहते हैं। यह दिशा जल का स्थान है। इस दिशा में बोरिंग, स्वीमिंग पूल, पूजास्थल आदि होना चाहिए। इस दिशा में मेनगेट का होना बहुत ही अच्छा रहता है।
उत्तर-पश्चिम दिशा - इसे वायव्य दिशा भी कहते हैं। इस दिशा में आपका बेडरूम, गैरेज, गौशाला आदि होना चाहिए।
दक्षिण-पूर्व दिशा - इसे घर का आग्नेय कोण कहते हैं। यह अग्नि तत्व की दिशा है। इस दिशा में गैस, बॉयलर, ट्रांसफॉर्मर आदि होना चाहिए।
दक्षिण-पश्चिम दिशा - इस दिशा को नैऋत्य दिशा कहते हैं। इस दिशा में खुलापन अर्थात खिड़की, दरवाजे बिलकुल ही नहीं होना चाहिए। घर के मुखिया का कमरा यहां बना सकते हैं। कैश काउंटर, मशीनें आदि आप इस दिशा में रख सकते हैं।
घर का आंगन - घर में आंगन नहीं है तो घर अधूरा है। घर के आगे और पीछे छोटा ही सही, पर आंगन होना चाहिए। आंगन में तुलसी, अनार, जामफल, मीठा या कड़वा नीम, आंवला आदि के अलावा सकारात्मक ऊर्जा देने वाले फूलदार पौधे लगाएं।
