December 19, 2023: The Maharashtra state government has approved an initial proposal for the development of the Third Mumbai, a new city centered around the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).
The Third Mumbai city aims to concentrate on delivering housing, transportation, and infrastructure facilities to bolster the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
This is in line with the proposal that was spoken about by Maharashtra deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. This is the place where the biggest data centres in the country are being constructed. It will be the centre of the digital economy of the country, mentioned Fadnavis.
As of now, we have 2 Mumbais - Mumbai and Navi Mumbai but once all our infra projects are completed, a third Mumbai will be created.
