DDA Launches 25% Discount Housing Schemes 2025 for Workers & More

In an effort to make housing more affordable, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has unveiled three new housing schemes for 2025. These schemes are designed to help a wide range of people, including construction workers, auto-rickshaw drivers, cab drivers, women, and other disadvantaged groups. The announcement was made after a meeting led by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, the Chairman of the DDA. Here’s a breakdown of these initiatives and how they aim to improve access to housing for many.

Scheme 1: Affordable Flats in Prime Areas

The first scheme will offer 110 flats across popular areas of Delhi, such as Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Rohini, Ashoka Pahadi, and Jahangirpuri. The flats are divided into three categories based on income groups:

  • 7 flats will be available for high-income groups (HIG), offering 3BHK apartments.
  • 58 flats will be for middle-income groups (MIG) and will consist of 2BHK apartments.
  • 45 flats will be offered to low-income groups (LIG), with 1BHK apartments.

The process for getting a flat in Vasant Kunj will be through an online e-auction, while flats in the other areas will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. This scheme provides a unique opportunity for people from different income groups to own a home in some of the most sought-after localities in Delhi.

Scheme 2: 25% Discount for Workers and Disadvantaged Groups

The second scheme offers a generous 25% discount on flats located in Narela, Loknayakpuram, and Siraspur. This special offer is available for construction workers, including those who are part of the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (DBOCWWB), and beneficiaries of the PM-Vishwakarma Scheme.

Additionally, other disadvantaged groups can also benefit from this discount, including:

  • Auto-rickshaw and cab drivers
  • Women
  • War widows
  • People with disabilities
  • Ex-servicemen
  • People from SC/ST categories

These discounts will help ease the burden of homeownership for people who may have otherwise struggled to afford a home. A total of approximately 700 flats in Narela's Sector G2 will be part of this scheme, with the discount available until March 31, 2025.

Scheme 3: 25% Discount on DDA Sasta Ghar and Madhyam Vargiya Housing Schemes

The third scheme is an extension of the ongoing DDA Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme and DDA Madhyam Vargiya Housing Scheme. It offers a 25% discount on 25% of all flats available in Narela, Siraspur (LIG), and Loknayakpuram (LIG). Additionally, 10% of the flats in Loknayakpuram (MIG) will also be available with a discounted rate.

These flats will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, giving those eligible a chance to secure a home at a lower price. This scheme aims to create more affordable housing options for the people who need it the most.

A Step Towards Greater Accessibility

The DDA's latest housing initiatives show its commitment to providing affordable housing for various sections of society. Whether it’s construction workers, auto-rickshaw drivers, women, or other disadvantaged groups, the 25% discount scheme is a significant step in the right direction. By offering affordable flats in prime locations like Vasant Kunj and Dwarka, the DDA is ensuring that even those with limited financial resources have an opportunity to own their own homes.

The move is also a reflection of the government's ongoing efforts to address housing shortages in urban areas, particularly in rapidly growing cities like Delhi.

How to Apply for the Housing Schemes

The application process for these schemes will vary depending on the specific scheme and location. Flats in Vasant Kunj will be available through an e-auction, while those in other areas will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Interested applicants must check the official DDA website for the latest information and application guidelines.

The DDA’s Special Housing Schemes 2025 are a great opportunity for those looking for affordable housing in Delhi. With a 25% discount on flats in some of the city's most popular areas, these schemes will benefit construction workers, auto and cab drivers, women, and other underserved communities. These schemes reflect the government's determination to create a more inclusive and accessible housing market for all. If you’re eligible, don’t miss out on this chance to secure a home at a discounted price.
